Social Media and Management

Social Media if you think about, the social means interacting with other people by sharing information with them as well as receiving information from them and the media is the communication part via the Internet. By joining the words together Social Media is web-based communication and interacting with people by both sharing and consuming information.

Social Media training

When I first started out in social media it was social and fun, keeping in touch with friends and family.

In 2009 when I started my own business I took a long hard look at social media and how it could benefit my business. Because I’m a trainer I took up the challenge of training social media for Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. First I had to write training manuals for each, there was little in the market place.

Its an exciting journey.

Social Media training are 4 hour workshops which include an overview of Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Social Media Management

Over time I’ve been approached by small/medium companies to either train or manage their social media, usually a bit of both.  I often start by managing their social media, then go on to train staff who have been nominated for the job.

Social media management works well as management get a feel for what they need or the direction they want to take. This is a great combination as the staff first learn to understand social media then go on to realizing the importace of including it as a marketing tool.

Social Media management is based on a set number of hours per week for an agreed fee.
