The Formula Bar is an essential or fundamental part of Microsoft Excel and shows what is in a cell, values (numbers), text or formula. The Formula Bar is under the ribbon and above the column labels.
You can show or hide the formula bar.
You might find you need more room to view a worksheet or you may have unwittingly turned it off, hidden it. Oh yes! truth be told we’ve all clicked somewhere or pressed the keyboard only to find something missing.
The Formula Bar, can be turned on or off. To show or hide the Formula Bar is not difficult if you know where to look, do the following:
- Click the View tab in the Show Group, click the Formula Bar check box
- You can toggle between showing or hiding the formula bar
Additionally this is also where you can show or hide the Gridlines and Headings (column headings).
This applies to Microsoft Excel version 2016 and 2019
